Volkswagen Appoints Henning Habicht To Lead Chattanooga Operations And Enhance Vehicle Production

Henning Habicht will soon take charge of Volkswagen's Chattanooga plant, overseeing the production of the Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, and ID.4 models. He steps into this role in December, succeeding Chris Glover, who plans to retire in January 2025 after leading the facility since November 2021. Volkswagen has invested over $4.3 billion in this Tennessee plant, creating more than 125,000 jobs directly and indirectly.

Habicht expressed his enthusiasm for building on Glover's achievements at the Chattanooga plant. "I’m honored to build upon the legacy Chris has created in Chattanooga, including the world-class production facility as well as the more than 5,500 team members who make it run each day," he stated. The focus remains on maximizing production of key models and supporting Chattanooga's economic growth.

Before leading Chattanooga Operations, he served as Executive Vice President at Volkswagen de México. His career also included significant roles in China, Brazil, Germany, and South Africa.

Dr. Christian Vollmer praised Glover’s contributions: "Our ability to significantly increase vehicle production capacity in Chattanooga is a testament to the passion and commitment Chris has brought both to our thousands of local employees as well as the broader Chattanooga community."
