Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition Revealed – Comes With More Practical Enhancements
Toyota has recently enriched its lineup with the introduction of the Fortuner Leader Edition in India. This new variant of the Fortuner SUV is based on the diesel 4x2 models.
This addition comes alongside the announcement of a milestone, with over 250,000 Fortuner SUVs sold in India since its introduction in 2009. The Leader Edition brings both aesthetic and functional upgrades, aiming to offer more to its buyers.

What's New In The Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition?
The Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition is not just another version; it stands out with unique features and updates. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions, catering to different driving preferences.
It's equipped with practical enhancements like a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), auto-folding outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), and a wireless charger, adding to the convenience and safety of the driving experience.
Enhancing its appeal, the exterior sees significant changes with new black alloy wheels and three dual-tone colour options - Super White, Platinum Pearl White, and Silver Metallic, all accentuated with contrasting black details.
The SUV also sports new front and rear bumper spoilers, part of Toyota's official accessory range, installed by the dealer, setting the Leader Edition apart from its standard counterparts.
Pricing and Expectations
While Toyota has not disclosed an official price for the Fortuner Leader Edition, it is anticipated to be slightly more expensive than the standard Fortuner 4x2's price range of Rs 35.93 lakh to Rs 38.21 lakh.
This premium accounts for the exclusive features and design elements that come with the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition, promising a more distinctive and enhanced version of the already popular SUV.
Performance & Competition
The Fortuner Leader Edition maintains its robust performance with a 204hp, 2.8-litre diesel engine. The engine offers 500Nm of torque with the 6-speed automatic transmission and 420Nm with the manual gearbox, ensuring a powerful drive.
It continues to compete with other SUVs like the MG Gloster and anticipates the return of the Ford Endeavour, likely rebranded as the Everest, enriching the segment with more options for consumers.
DriveSpark Thinks
With these upgrades, the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition SUV aims to solidify its position in the SUV market, offering a blend of utility, style, and performance for the Indian consumer.
