Suzuki Prepares For Electric Future With First EV Launch Next Year
Suzuki plans to launch its first fully electric vehicle (EV) next year, with more EV models to follow by 2030. In preparation, Suzuki is aligning its brand and dealer network with UK and EU regulations and will streamline its model range by the end of this year.
‘‘The departure of these models will make room for EV and enable us to compete during a period where our sales ratio of hybrid versus EV products will drive our business. We’re exiting the ICE era with a focus on SUV’s and new Swift, then starting in the second half of 2025 we’ll begin a period of EV growth,’’ said Dale Wyatt.

By early 2025, or sooner if dealer stock runs out, Suzuki will discontinue the Swift Sport, Jimny LCV, Ignis, and Swace models. The hybrid lineup will then include Swift, Vitara, S-Cross, and Across PHEV. This shift marks Suzuki's transition from internal combustion engines (ICE) to electric vehicles.
This year, Suzuki aims to match the sales volumes achieved in 2023 in both the UK and Republic of Ireland. This consistency in sales is part of their strategy as they prepare for a significant shift towards electric vehicles.
Introduced last year, Suzuki's up to seven years warranty has attracted over 26,000 customers. This warranty is offered free once the car's standard manufacturer warranty ends and it is booked for its next scheduled service within the Suzuki Dealer network.
The warranty remains valid until the next qualifying service and can be renewed up to a maximum vehicle age of seven years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This initiative aims to reduce ownership costs for customers.
Suzuki's strategic move towards electric vehicles involves not only new model introductions but also compliance with legislative requirements. The brand is positioning itself for future growth in the EV market while maintaining customer satisfaction through extended warranties.
