Suzuki Hustler Spied Testing In India: Likely To Rival Tata Punch & Hyundai Exter
Suzuki Hustler was recently spotted testing in India. This potentially hits at the launch of the model in the coming months. When launched, we expect this model to compete against the likes of Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch in India.
It is also worth mentioning that the Tata Punch has been well-received by Indian buyers and often tops the sales chart. Maruti Suzuki has yet to introduce a direct rival to the Punch and the Suzuki Hustler test mule suggests that this could change soon.

Suzuki Hustler Test Mule
The Suzuki Hustler test mule which was spied testing did not wear any camouflage, revealing its design elements. However the Suzuki logo and Hustler branding were masked, but the model was easily identified thanks to its distinct Kei car design.
The test vehicle featured a lighter white/silver shade with a dual-tone effect and a darker grey roof. This colour scheme extended to the C and D pillars and the top half of the rear tailgate. The absence of wheel centre hub caps also caught attention.
Suzuki Hustler Design and Features
The Suzuki Hustler boasts a large glass area and a boxy silhouette typical of Kei cars. It includes crossover elements like roof rails and body cladding. The vehicle has a flat, upright bonnet and fascia, with wheels pushed outwards, minimising overhangs.
Inside, the Hustler offers a quirky layout designed to comfortably seat four adults. It is built on Suzuki's Heartect platform, which underpins several other models in their lineup.

Suzuki Hustler Dimensions
The Suzuki Hustler measures 3,395 mm in length and 1,475 mm in width, making it relatively small for Indian standards. If launched in India, an extended version might be developed to suit local preferences, similar to how Hyundai adapted the Exter from Korea's Casper model.
Suzuki Hustler Launch Details
Despite its potential as a Tata Punch rival and possible replacement for the Ignis, there is no guarantee that the Hustler will launch in India. Maruti Suzuki has previously tested global models in India without releasing them here.

The Ignis's appeal has waned over time, with even the Jimny outselling it in July 2024. Introducing the Hustler could rejuvenate Maruti's portfolio by offering an alternative to current models.
