Skoda Superb Sportline: A New Trim With Sporty Enhancements Unveiled
Skoda has unveiled a new 'Sportline' trim for the current-generation Superb, available globally. This variant features cosmetic enhancements and additional features, positioning it as a sportier version of the sedan. The Sportline trim is similar to the Monte Carlo trim offered with the Kushaq in India.
Exterior Updates
The exterior of the Superb Sportline boasts blacked-out elements, including the radiator grille frame, window frames, and Skoda badging at the rear. The mirror caps are also finished in gloss black. It comes with 18-inch standard or 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, reminiscent of those on the pre-facelift Hyundai Alcazar sold in India. Additionally, it features Sportline badging on the front fenders and LED Matrix headlights.

Interior Enhancements
Inside, the cabin sports seats with integrated headrests and manually adjustable thigh support. An optional Suite Sport Design Selection offers AGR-certified leather seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Other interior updates include a black headliner, faux-carbon fibre effect on the dashboard, steel pedal covers, and a new three-spoke steering wheel with Skoda lettering instead of the logo seen on other variants.
Powertrain Options
The Sportline trim is available with all powertrain options offered with the Superb. These include a 150hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine; a 150hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine; a 193hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine; and a 265hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The Superb Sportline is available in both sedan and estate formats.

Other Changes
The Superb Sportline's chassis has been retuned to sit 15mm lower than the standard model. It also includes progressive steering as a standard feature. Dynamic Chassis Control is available as an optional extra for enhanced driving dynamics.
This trim was previously available on the India-spec third-generation Superb until BS6 Phase II emission norms were implemented. Recently relaunched in India as a CBU in limited numbers, the previous-gen Superb now costs Rs 54 lakh, making it nearly Rs 8 lakh more expensive than its direct competitor in India, the Toyota Camry.
