Škoda Auto Appoints Chan Park As Head Of Interior Design To Enhance Aesthetics And Functionality

Chan Park has taken on the role of Head of Interior Design at Škoda Auto, effective from 3 June 2024. Park, an alumnus of the Royal College of Art, brings extensive experience from several major automotive brands. His minimalist design philosophy will shape the interiors of Škoda’s upcoming models and project studies.

Park's predecessor, Peter Olah, will assume a new role within the Škoda Design team. Olah will be responsible for Art Direction - One Design Identity, focusing on a holistic 360° design strategy that includes philosophy, style, and future trend research.

Chan Park Leads Škoda's Design Future

Until recently, Chan Park served as the chief interior designer at Nio. He completed his Master’s degree in Vehicle Design from the Royal College of Art in London in 2007. Park began his career at Pininfarina in Italy before moving to Kia Europe in Germany in January 2009, where he led several interior design projects.

Park advanced his career at Mercedes-Benz AG as a Senior Interior Designer and later progressed to Senior Designer at Audi AG from 2013 to 2021. His extensive background makes him well-suited for his new role at Škoda Auto.

Škoda Auto is navigating the new decade with its Next Level – Škoda Strategy 2030. The company aims to be one of the five best-selling brands in Europe by 2030. This goal includes an attractive line-up in entry-level segments and additional electric models.

The strategy also leverages growth markets such as India, North Africa, Vietnam, and the ASEAN region. In 2023, Škoda delivered over 866,000 vehicles globally and currently offers eleven passenger-car series including the Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Superb, Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Enyaq, Enyaq Coupé, Slavia, and Kushaq.

Škoda Auto has been a member of the Volkswagen Group for 30 years. The Volkswagen Group is one of the most successful vehicle manufacturers globally. As part of the Brand Group CORE – an organisational merger of Volkswagen Group’s volume brands – Škoda aims to achieve joint growth and significantly increase overall efficiency.

Škoda independently manufactures and develops components such as MEB battery systems, engines, and transmissions within the Volkswagen Group. These components are also used in vehicles of other Group brands.

Production and Workforce

Škoda operates at three sites in the Czech Republic and has additional production capacity in China, Slovakia, and India through Group partnerships. The company also collaborates with a local partner in Ukraine. Globally, Škoda employs approximately 40,000 people and is active in around 100 markets.
