Sean Dylan Kelly Triumphs With First MotoAmerica Superbike Win In Texas
BMW Motorrad USA extends its congratulations to Sean Dylan Kelly for his maiden MotoAmerica Superbike victory. The Texas race weekend was thrilling for BMW M 1000 RR riders. Kelly, representing EasyHealthPlans.com/TopPro Racing Team, secured his first Superbike win. Cameron Beaubier of Tytlers Cycle Racing also had a notable performance with two wins and a second-place finish out of three races at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX.
Race 1 of the Steel Commander Superbike series was action-packed, featuring numerous lead changes, technical issues, and off-course moments. Beaubier (No. 6 BMW M 1000 RR), Kelly (No. 40 BMW M 1000 RR), and Beach (No. 95 BMW M 1000 RR) started strong from second, third, and fourth positions respectively. Beaubier took the lead on lap 2 but dropped to third on lap 4 due to a cornering issue. Kelly moved into second but had to retire on lap 7 due to a bike problem. Beaubier reclaimed the lead with two laps remaining and secured his first win of the weekend. JD Beach finished fifth, while Danilo Lewis on his No. 94 Team Brazil BMW came ninth.
The second race was pivotal for Sean Dylan Kelly and his specially painted BMW M 1000 RR, designed by children from Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, FL. The battle for the top spot began immediately with two lead changes in the first lap alone. Kelly led at the start of lap 2 with Beaubier close behind. The final lap saw four lead changes before Kelly clinched victory at the last corner, leaving Beaubier in second place and JD Beach in ninth.
Race 3 continued to showcase BMW M 1000 RR riders' skills following a red flag restart. Kelly and Beaubier started from second and third positions respectively, chasing the leader throughout the race. Beaubier frequently swapped P1 with the leader until he secured it on the final lap, finishing first for the second time that weekend. Kelly finished third while JD Beach ended in seventh place.
With one round left in the season, Cameron Beaubier has moved up to second place in the Superbike class standings, while Sean Dylan Kelly is now fourth and JD Beach remains eighth. Danilo Lewis leads the Superbike Championship Cup points race followed by Nolan Lamkin in third, Alex Arango in fourth, and Agustin Sierra in eighth place.
In the Stock 1000 class standings after three rounds without races, Jayson Uribe holds second place just seven points behind the championship leader while Danilo Lewis is seventh. The final race weekend will be held at MotoAmerica Superbikes at New Jersey from September 27-29.
