MG celebrated its centenary at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with a blend of past and future. The Duke of Richmond inaugurated the event by driving his grandfather's MG C-Type, leading a parade of historic and modern MG cars past Goodwood House and up the hill climb.

The festival featured a unique collection of MG vehicles, including the new MG Cyberster convertible alongside classics like the MGA Le Mans and MGC GTS Sebring. This display highlighted MG's rich history in both road and track performance.

MG's future was showcased with the global debut of the MG Cyber GTS Concept. Introduced by Jozef Kaban, Vice President of MG’s Global Design Centre, this concept car pays tribute to the MGC GTS Sebring, which achieved notable success at the 1968 Sebring 12-hour race.

The Cyber GTS Concept aims to capture the spirit of its predecessor while incorporating modern EV powertrains. It explores potential advancements for a new GTS model in the electric vehicle era, following in the footsteps of the Cyberster, the world’s first open-top EV two-seater to enter production.

The EXE181, another highlight at Goodwood, is a modern reinterpretation of the original EX181 that set land speed records in 1957 and 1959. Designed by Carl Gotham’s team in London, it honours Sir Stirling Moss and Phil Hill's achievements at Bonneville Salt Flats.

This new version retains key features like a compact single-seat cabin and an open canopy. It also incorporates modern elements such as a connected user interface and aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of 0.181. The design pays homage to its predecessor with colours inspired by Bonneville’s salt flats and skies.

Central Feature Celebrates MG Legacy

In front of Goodwood House, Gerry Judah's Central Feature showcased the Cyberster alongside the beloved MGB. This installation celebrated MG's legacy with a spectacular fireworks display marking their centennial milestone.

The festival also saw the global debut of the new MG HS SUV. Available in petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, it offers enhanced styling, increased cabin space, and numerous new features, reinforcing MG’s commitment to value and innovation.

Established in 1924, MG Motor has evolved from creating iconic sports cars like the MG 14/28 Super Sports to focusing on sustainable mobility solutions. Their current lineup includes petrol, electric, and hybrid vehicles designed for versatility and advanced technology.

MG Motor remains dedicated to making mobility accessible for all while maintaining world-class design standards. Each vehicle comes with a generous 7-year/80,000-mile warranty, reflecting their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

The celebrations at Goodwood were not just about looking back but also about envisioning an exciting future for MG. With innovative concepts like the Cyber GTS and EXE181, MG continues to push boundaries in automotive design and performance.
