Maserati Grecale SUV Launched In India At Rs 1.31 Crore: Available In 3 Variants

Maserati has introduced the Grecale SUV in India, starting at Rs 1.31 crore. The lineup includes three variants: GT (Rs 1.31 crore), Modena (Rs 1.53 crore), and Trofeo (Rs 2.05 crore). This pricing positions the Grecale above its main competitor, the Porsche Macan, which ranges from Rs 96.05 lakh to Rs 1.53 crore.

The Grecale GT variant features a 300hp, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid assistance. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. This model boasts a claimed acceleration from 0-100kph in 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 240kph, with a mechanical differential as standard.

The mid-tier Modena variant uses the same engine as the GT but is tuned to deliver 330hp, allowing it to achieve a claimed 0-100kph time of 5.3 seconds. While maintaining the same top speed as the GT, it also includes a limited-slip differential and adaptive suspension for enhanced performance.

Externally, the Modena comes with 20-inch wheels and black highlights instead of chrome. Inside, it offers leather interiors, sport seats adjustable in 14 ways with heating functions, and a three-zone climate control system.

The top-spec Trofeo variant is equipped with a powerful 530hp, 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine that propels it from 0-100kph in just 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 285kph. This version includes an electronic limited-slip differential as standard.

Additional features on the Trofeo include larger 21-inch wheels, red brake calipers, sportier front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and carbon-fibre elements both inside and out for a more aggressive look.

Maserati has ensured that pre-configured models are available for immediate delivery to customers who prefer not to wait. However, those opting for personalised configurations will face a waiting period of five to eight months based on customisation levels.

The Italian brand plans to expand its presence in India by opening new dealerships in Delhi and Bengaluru. At the inauguration of its New Delhi showroom, Maserati will announce prices for the GranTurismo grand tourer model.

Currently operating only one showroom in Mumbai, this expansion aims to boost Maserati's sales across India significantly. Despite this growth strategy, there are no immediate plans to utilise Stellantis' existing dealer and service network within the country.

Philippe Claverol, head of Maserati's overseas markets, mentioned that while Maserati operates independently using some Stellantis resources for support functions like importing cars, further collaboration could be explored in the future but isn't planned immediately. Additionally, Maserati has hinted at introducing the all-electric Grecale Folgore in India soon; however, specific timelines remain undisclosed.
