Lamborghini Announces Young Driver Talent For 2024 Super Trofeo And GT3 Programs
Lamborghini Squadra Corse has revealed the latest intake for its Super Trofeo and GT3 Junior Programs. This year, 28 Super Trofeo and nine GT3 drivers will participate in a season-long assessment. The evaluations will culminate in a shootout at Jerez de la Frontera in November.
The Super Trofeo Junior Driver Program targets drivers aged 25 or under who compete in regional Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships across Europe, North America, and Asia. Meanwhile, the GT3 Junior Drivers Program is for those racing the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 globally.
This year’s Super Trofeo Junior roster includes 20 drivers from Europe, five from North America, and three from Asia. Notably, Frenchman Loris Cabirou is competing in both European and North American series. The program features participants from 16 different nationalities.
Among the European competitors are Largim Ali from Denmark, Giorgio Amati from Italy, and Ibrahim Badawi from Egypt. North American participants include Luke Berkeley and Bryson Morris from the USA. Asian representatives include Emilien Carde from France and Charles Leong Hon Chio from Macao.
The GT3 Junior roster comprises drivers from five countries. Participants include Riccardo Cazzaniga from Italy competing in Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo and Ugo de Wilde from Belgium racing in GT World Challenge Europe. Other notable names are Luca Engstler from Germany (DTM) and Artem Petrov from Israel (International GT Open).
Last year’s standout performers were Ugo de Wilde and Marzio Moretti, who now race in GT3 categories. Loris Spinelli won the GT3 Junior shootout last year and was promoted to Lamborghini Factory Driver.
Young Professional Drivers
Four drivers will receive official backing as Young Professional Drivers: Danny Formal (IMSA GTD), Mattia Michelotto (Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo), Yuki Nemoto (GTWC Asia), and Maximilian Paul (DTM). These drivers have shown exceptional skill and professionalism.
The programs offer extensive training including media management, on-track instruction, and technical expertise enhancement. Participants also benefit from physical preparation at Lamborghini’s state-of-the-art gym facilities in Sant’Agata Bolognese.
Instructor Roles
Several graduates of the Young Drivers Programs have become official Lamborghini instructors. This year, Baptiste Moulin, Marcus Påverud, Oliver Söderström, and Pierre Louis Chovet join experienced instructors like Jonathan Ceccotto and Alberto Di Folco.
This initiative highlights their professional skills beyond competitive racing. It also underscores Lamborghini's commitment to nurturing talent within the automotive world.
Partnership with Macron
The 2024 Lamborghini Young Driver Program is organised in collaboration with Macron, a leading sportswear brand based in Bologna. Macron will provide uniforms and training kits exclusively for program participants.
The most impressive drivers over the season will be selected by Squadra Corse for a dedicated shootout after the traditional season-closing Lamborghini World Finals at Jerez de la Frontera circuit in southern Spain.
The winners of both the Super Trofeo Junior Driver Program and GT3 Junior Driver Program shootouts will receive factory support during the 2025 season.
