KYMCO Boosts UK And Irish Presence With New Dealer Contracts In Its 60th Year
KYMCO UK has expanded its dealer network by signing nine new franchise agreements across the UK and Ireland since early 2024. This growth marks the company's 60th year in business. Neil Keeble, National Sales and Marketing Manager of KYMCO UK, stated, "The addition of nine new authorised franchised dealers in the UK and Ireland proves that KYMCO is showing no signs of slowing down in its 60th year."
The expansion includes five dealers offering motorcycles and scooters and four specialising in ATVs. In Ireland, D A Forgie's Lisburn branch becomes the second dealer in Northern Ireland, while Kilkenny Quads is the first outlet in the Republic of Ireland.

KYMCO's reputation for high-quality manufacturing dates back to 1964. The company began motorcycle production in 1970 and launched independent models in 1997. Keeble added, "Continued growth in dealers offering KYMCO’s motorcycles, scooters and ATVs shows that our reputation of selling high-quality manufactured products at competitive prices is of ever-increasing value to consumers."
The new dealerships include Moto Martyn Motorcycles in Aberdare, South Wales; Motorcycles 2 U in Redditch, Worcestershire; My Moto in Leeds, West Yorkshire; Newcombe Motorcycles in Chelmsford, Essex; and Speedway Motorcycles in Cannock, West Midlands. The ATV dealers are ARK ATVs in Minehead, Somerset; JG Paxtons in Bentham, North Yorkshire; D A Forgie in Lisburn, Northern Ireland; and Kilkenny Quads in Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland.
Founded by Guang-Shu Ko in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, KYMCO started as a production facility for Honda motorcycle parts. Manufacturing began in 1964 following an agreement with Soichiro Honda. By 1970, KYMCO had entered motorcycle manufacturing with the Honda C200 model.
Historical Milestones
KYMCO produced one million motorcycles by 1983 and three million by 1991. In 1992, it began selling independently developed products under its own brand. The Freeway 125/Hao Mai 125 scooter became its first model to sell one million units from 1990-2008.
In 1997, KYMCO launched its own models as an independent manufacturer with the Zing 125 cruiser motorcycle and the Dink scooter. These models were marketed globally along with ATVs and mobility scooters introduced in the early 2000s.
UK sales of KYMCO motorcycles began in 1998 through Masco, the original importer. In 2008, KYMCO UK LTD was formed to operate KYMCO’s mobility division. By acquiring Masco's assets in 2018, KYMCO UK started operating all three divisions: mobility, two-wheelers and ATVs together.
Keeble concluded by encouraging interested dealers to contact him directly for opportunities to represent the brand. He also mentioned the upcoming launch of Euro 5+ KYMCO motorcycles and scooters later this year.
