The BMW Championship has significantly supported education through its contributions to the Evans Scholars Foundation. Since 2007, it has raised over $50 million, helping more than 3,300 students attend college. Currently, a record 1,190 caddies are enrolled as Evans Scholars across 24 universities nationwide.

The annual Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am event featured notable guests like NFL Hall-of-Famers John Elway and Peyton Manning and country music star Luke Bryan. This event is part of the championship week’s festivities.

Bradley will defend his title next August at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Future venues include Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri in 2026 and Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey in 2027.

Sebastian Mackensen, President and CEO of BMW North America, praised the event: "The 2024 BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club gave us an incredible week of golf and brought out the best in these players." He also thanked everyone involved for making the event possible.

Historical Significance of BMW Championship

The BMW Championship dates back to 1899 when it was known as the Western Open. It is now the third-oldest tournament on the PGA TOUR schedule. Since becoming part of the FedExCup Playoffs in 2007, it has been a crucial event leading up to the TOUR Championship.

The Western Golf Association (WGA), which conducts six national golf championships including this one, sponsors the Evans Scholars Foundation. The WGA was founded in 1899 by Chicago-area golf clubs to promote their interests in golf.

Evans Scholars Foundation's Role

The Evans Scholars Foundation provides full housing and tuition scholarships to high-achieving caddies across the country. Established by Charles Chick Evans Jr., it is supported by contributions from over 38,500 Par Club members and proceeds from events like the BMW Championship.

Bradley’s victory was celebrated with a trophy presentation attended by several dignitaries including Steve Colnitis from WGA and George Solich from Castle Pines Golf Club. Bradley acknowledged Castle Pines’ hospitality towards caddies during his acceptance speech.

The championship features top players from FedExCup standings to determine who advances to the final round at East Lake Country Club in Atlanta. This year’s win has set Bradley up for a strong finish at next week’s TOUR Championship.

This year’s championship highlighted not only competitive golf but also its charitable impact through educational support for caddies nationwide.
