Hyundai India's Sales Surge In June 2024: SUVs Led In Sales
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported a year-on-year sales growth for June 2024, with total sales reaching 64,803 units. Domestic sales accounted for 50,103 units, while exports contributed 14,700 units. This highlights HMIL's strong market presence and strategic approach to balancing and growing domestic and international demand.
In the first half of CY2024, HMIL achieved a total sales volume of 385,772 units, marking a 5.68 percent year-on-year growth. This growth is attributed to the company's successful market strategies and the sustained popularity of its vehicle lineup, particularly SUVs. SUVs made up 66 percent of domestic sales, showcasing their dominant role in HMIL's portfolio.

Hyundai Creta: A Standout Performer
The Hyundai Creta remains a standout performer with sales reaching 91,348 units in H1 CY2024, showing an impressive 11 percent year-on-year growth. The model's strong market appeal continues to drive sales momentum in the competitive SUV segment.
Comparing domestic sales year-on-year, HMIL sold 50,103 units in June 2024, slightly up from 50,001 units in June 2023. This indicates a 0.20 percent growth. Over H1 CY2024, domestic sales totaled 309,772 units compared to 296,010 units in H1 CY2023, reflecting a 4.65 percent growth.

H1 Export Challenges and Growth
On the export front, HMIL faced challenges in June 2024 with export sales declining by 5.77 percent to 14,700 units from 15,600 units in June 2023. However, H1 CY2024 saw exports rise by 10.11 percent to 76,000 units from 69,020 units in H1 CY2023.
Total sales in June 2024 saw a slight decline of 1.22 percent to 64,803 units from 65,601 units in June 2023. However, overall sales performance for H1 CY2024 showed a solid growth of 5.68 percent with total sales reaching 385,772 units compared to the previous year's figure of365030units.

Hyundai Motor India Limited's Chief Operating Officer, Tarun Garg, announced that the company achieved a 5.68% increase in sales in the first half of 2024 compared to the previous year.

SUVs played a significant role in this growth, making up 66% of total domestic sales. The popular Hyundai Creta played a pivotal role in driving domestic sales, with 91,348 units sold, marking an 11% increase from the same period last year.
