Hyundai Inster Electric SUV: Top Things We Know So Far
Hyundai unveiled the all-electric Inster, a sub-compact EV, at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. The model attracted plenty of attention with its quirky design and decent specifications. That being said, here is a summary of everything we know so far about the Hyundai INSTER.
Driving Range and Charging
The Inster offers a targeted driving range of up to 355 km (according to WLTP standards) on a single charge with the Long-Range battery pack. Both battery options (standard 42 kWh and Long-Range 49 kWh) can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in about 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC charger.

Design
The Inster boasts a compact SUV design with clean lines, strong fenders, and a two-tone exterior option for a touch of personalization. The model also features LED projector headlamps and various wheel sizes are available. The interior features a spacious cabin with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and heated front seats.
Sustainable Materials
Hyundai uses recycled materials extensively throughout the car. The exterior paint is black high-gloss recycled paint made from recycled waste tyres, and the interior uses recycled PET bottles and bio-polypropylene derived from sugarcane.

Battery and Powertrain
The Inster comes in two variants with different power outputs. The standard battery option comes with a motor producing 97 PS, while the Long-Range option gets a 115 PS motor. Both are front-wheel drive.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) Functionality
The Inster offers V2L functionality for bi-directional charging, allowing you to power or charge devices like electric bicycles, scooters, and camping equipment.

Advanced Safety Features
The Inster comes equipped with a suite of advanced driver-assistance features, including a Surround View Monitor, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear, Blind-spot View Monitor, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Hyundai Digital Key.
Availability
The Inster will debut in Korea this summer, followed by launches in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. A future variant called the Inster Cross with a rugged design is also planned.

The Hyundai Inster appears to be a compelling option for eco-conscious urban drivers seeking an affordable and practical electric vehicle. With its combination of decent driving range, spacious interior for a sub-compact SUV, and focus on sustainable materials, the Inster is poised to be a strong contender in the growing electric car market.
