2024 Suzuki Swift Earns Three Stars In Euro NCAP Safety Tests
The all-new 2024 Suzuki Swift recently underwent crash testing by Euro NCAP, securing a three-star safety rating. Previously, the Swift was tested in Japan and received four stars. Currently, the Swift has not been tested in India but may be evaluated by Bharat NCAP soon.
Euro NCAP Crash Test Results
The fourth-generation Suzuki Swift was subjected to rigorous safety tests. It achieved 26.9 points in Adult Occupant Protection, translating to 67%. In Child Occupant Protection, it scored 32.1 points or 65%. These results highlight the vehicle's safety standards.

In Europe, the Swift comes with an extensive list of safety features. These include dual front airbags, side head airbags for all occupants, and side chest and pelvis airbags for front occupants. Additionally, it has seatbelt pre-tensioners, seatbelt load limiters, and Isofix child seat mounts.
Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
The international-spec Swift also boasts an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. This includes Speed Assistance scoring 2.1 points, Lane Assist System, and fatigue and distraction detection. Other ADAS features like Occupant Status Monitoring, Lane Support System, and AEB Car-to-Car System scored 0.3 points, 2.5 points, and 6.5 points respectively.

Differences in Indian Market-Spec Swift
The Indian version of the fourth-generation Swift differs significantly from its European counterpart. It lacks the ADAS suite found in the European model and does not feature hybrid powertrain technology. Despite these differences, the Indian Swift includes six airbags, hill hold assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, reverse camera parking, and Isofix mounts.
Before the Euro NCAP assessment, the Suzuki Swift was also evaluated by Japan NCAP. The Japanese market-spec Swift received a commendable four-star rating after undergoing tests including frontal collisions at 55 km/h and side collisions at speeds of 55 and 64 km/h.

Potential Bharat NCAP Testing
There are no current reports indicating that the new Swift in India will undergo Bharat NCAP crash tests soon. However, it is possible that authorities may test it in the future. Maruti Suzuki has already sent models like Baleno, Brezza, and Grand Vitara for Bharat NCAP testing.
Bharat NCAP is a voluntary program applicable to vehicles in the M1 category—passenger vehicles with a gross weight of up to 3,500 kg and no more than eight seats excluding the driver's seat. The program evaluates vehicles based on adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, and safety assist technologies.

The results of these tests have not yet been published. All cars tested under Bharat NCAP are base variants to ensure consistency across evaluations. The new Suzuki Swift's performance in various crash tests highlights its commitment to safety across different markets despite variations in specifications.
