Hyundai India has launched the facelifted version of the Grand i10 Nios hatchback in India with a starting price of 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Thanks to the facelift, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios now looks a lot more contemporary and sportier than the previous iteration. Moreover, the entry-level hatchback continues to be offered in 4 trim levels - Era, Magna, Sportz, and Asta.

Starting with the design, the updated Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback features an evolutionary design language. Thanks to this evolutionary design, the updated hatchback immediately identifies itself as the latest iteration of the Grand i10. It is also worth mentioning that the facelifted model now looks a lot sportier as well.

Some of the most noticeable changes include a larger front grille with large honeycomb-shaped meshing. On top of that, the front section also features two aggressively-styled airdams with integrated DRLs. On the sides, the updated Grand i10 Nios hatchback comes with new alloy wheels and the rear now sports a more contemporary-looking connected LED taillamps.

However, on the inside, the changes are visible to a lesser extent as the updated iteration of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios continues to use the same dashboard with a similar layout. That being said, Hyundai has revised the interior colour scheme and the hatchback can be had in three colour combinations including black/grey, black with red inserts, and black with green inserts.

In addition to this, Hyundai has also replaced the semi-digital instrument cluster with a more conventional layout consisting of a MID display flanked by an analogue speedometer and an analogue tachometer. Though this may seem like a step backwards, the conventional set up not only looks better but it is also a lot more legible on the move.

Features

In terms of features, the updated iteration of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios continues to be offered with features such as a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, steering-mounted controls, electrically adjustable ORVMs, power windows and much more.

Coming to the safety features, Hyundai has really upped the game in the hatchback segment by offering safety features such as 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-hold assist, ABS, EBD and much more. However, it is worth mentioning that the updated Grand i10 offers 4 airbags as standard.

Powertrain

Coming to the powertrain, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is offered with two engine options. The 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder petrol engine pushes out 82bhp of peak power and 113.8Nm of torque. On the other hand, the bi-fuel version of the powertrain puts out 68bhp of power and 95.2Nm of torque while running on CNG.

Also, Hyundai offers both 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AMT unit with the standard petrol engine. However, the bi-fuel powertrain comes exclusively mated to the 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, Hyundai also claims that both powertrains are capable of running on E20 fuel (20% ethanol and 80% petrol).

Thoughts About The Updated Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

With the launch of the updated iteration of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios hatchback, the South Korean automaker will be looking forward to regaining the lost momentum in the hatchback segment and further increasing its overall market share in the coming months. Moreover, we expect the bi-fuel variant of the hatchback to sell better in metro cities.
