Hyundai Creta Facelift Scores 5-Star Safety Rating – All You Need To Know

The outgoing iteration of the Hyundai Creta continues to be one of the best-selling SUVs in India despite the model being in sale for some time.

That being said, with growing competition and increased awareness among consumers regarding safety, Hyundai is now focused to bring the facelifted version of the Creta SUV to India.

Hyundai Creta Facelift Scores 5-Star Safety Rating

Recently, the facelifted iteration of the Hyundai Creta SUV even scored a 5-Star safety rating at the ASEAN NCAP. This means the South Korean car manufacturer has upped its game in the crash safety to cater for the new demands of potential customers across the globe.

Diving into details, the upcoming facelifted version of the Hyundai Creta SUV achieved a very commendable 34.72 points in the Adult Occupant Protection crash test by ASEAN NCAP, whereas the Child Occupant Protection crash test was cleared with a very respectable score of 15.56 points.

In comparison, the India-spec version of the Hyundai Creta SUV received a 3-Star safety rating from Global NCAP, where the SUV scored a decent enough 8 points out of the maximum 17 points in the Adult Occupant Protection category, whereas the SUV scored 28.29 points in the Child Occupant Protection category.

The India-spec Hyundai Creta SUV that was used by the Global NCAP was equipped with features such as front seatbelts with pre-tensioners, SBR, ABS and a few more safety features. In comparison, the facelifted variant of the Hyundai Creta used by ASEAN NCAP comes with lot more safety features.

This includes the likes of features such as 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS, SBR, ISOFIX anchoring points, and many more. In fact, the model is even equipped with ADAS with active safety features such as Auto Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection and much more.

That being said, the facelifted iteration of the Hyundai Creta is likely to be powered by the outgoing engine options which include the likes of a 1.5-litre diesel unit with 114bhp and 250Nm of torque, the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 138bhp and 242Nm of torque, and 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with 113bhp and 144Nm of torque.
