Rimac Nevera Electric Hypercar Goes Into Production: With 1,888bhp, Could It Be The Fastest Accelerating Car?

The Rimac Nevera puts out 1,888bhp and 2,360Nm and the monstrous power is produced by four electric motors. These four motors individually power each wheel of the Rimac Nevera. Unlike most electric cars, the four motors used for propulsion are not identical.

The motors powering the front wheels produce a combined output of 500kW (670bhp) and 560Nm, while the rear motors put out a whopping 900kW (1,206bhp) and 1800Nm. This unique powertrain allows the Rimac Nevera to feel almost rear-wheel drive at times while providing the safety net of an all-wheel-drive car.

Despite being a newcomer to the industry, Rimac Automobili actually has an upper hand even when going against big guns like the Bugatti Chiron. The Croatian built Rimac Nevera takes just 1.97 seconds to hit 100kmph from a standstill and it will go onto touch a top speed of 412km/h.

However, the party piece of the Rimac Nevera are the 0-300km/h and quarter-mile times. It does the quarter mile in 8.2 seconds with a trap speed of over 276kmph and 0-300km/h is done in just 9.3 seconds.

Delivering the juice for the powerful motor is an equally impressive 120kWh lithium-manganese-nickel battery pack. The same battery can also be charged to 80% of its maximum capacity in just 22 minutes using a 500kW DC fast charger.

With an impressive powertrain and brain-numbing performance figures, don't think the interiors will be bare basic. The interiors on the Rimac Nevera beautifully crafted with leather and carbon fibre all around. Even though the Rimac Nevera uses two large screens in the interior, it never overwhelms other surfaces on the interior.

The Rimac Nevera is also quite smart at managing the air around it with electrically controlled underbody flaps and a rear wing that can divert the air for both cooling and also to increase the downforce.

Equipment-wise, the Rimac Nevera comes loaded to the brim with 13 cameras, 6 radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors all around. Only 150 units of Rimac Nevera will ever be made, and it will be made at the Croatian manufacturer's facility alongside the Pininfarina Battista.

Thoughts On The Rimac Nevera Hitting The Production Line

With a quarter-mile time of 8.2 seconds and a trap speed of 276km/h, we think this could just be the fastest accelerating production car in the world. We will have to wait and see if it takes any records. These numbers seem too surreal to process them immediately.
