MG Hector Receives More Than 50,000 Bookings Since Its Inception In The Indian Market
MG Motors launched the all-new Hector last year in the Indian market. Soon enough, the SUV started gaining a lot of traction due to its attractive pricing. The company started receiving a lot of bookings, but recently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MG could not meet the demands of the people as it had to halt the production at its assembly plant at Halol.

However, since its inception, the company has received more than 50,000 bookings and has delivered over 20,000 units to its customers. As we mentioned above, due to the lockdown, MG had to cut down the productions but at the same time, the company is also working to increase the production capacity of the Halol plant to meet the demands of its customers.

MG Motor earlier this year, launched the BS6 petrol version of its Hector SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 12.74 lakh for the base variant and Rs 17.44 lakh for the top-end one (all prices are ex-showroom). The company also launched the BS6 diesel variant Just after a few months of launching the updated petrol trim.

The prices of the BS6 MG Hector diesel starts at Rs 13.88 lakh for the base Style variant and goes all the way up to Rs 17.73 lakh for the top-end Sharp trim.
Mechanically, the BS6 petrol engine on the MG Hector is a 1.5-litre turbo unit producing 143bhp of power and 250Nm of peak torque. This is the same power and torque figures as the older BS4 unit. The petrol engine continues to be mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission unit.

On the other hand, Powering the BS6 variant remains the same 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine which continues to pump out 168.4bhp of power and 350Nm of peak torque (figures same as the BS4 motor). The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only.

Thoughts About MG Receiving 50,000 bookings For The Hector
The Hector is loaded with features and at this price point, it will definitely attract buyers who are planning to upgrade to an SUV. The MG Hector is positioned in the mid-size SUV segment, rivalling the likes of the Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the upcoming Hyundai Creta.
