Hyundai i10 Grand NIOS CNG Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 6.63 Lakh
Hyundai India has launched the Grand i10 NIOS CNG in the market. The new Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG is offered in two variants and comes with a starting price of Rs 6.63 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
The CNG version is offered on the mid-spec Magna and Sportz variants. The CNG-powered Grand i10 NIOS is positioned perfectly between its petrol and diesel-powered counterparts, in terms of pricing.
The CNG variants of the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS carry forward all the features and equipment offered on its conventional fuel-powered models. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, projector headlamps, keyless entry and steering-mounted audio controls; among a host of others.
However, it does miss out on a few features. This includes cooled glove compartments, rear adjustable headrests and rear washer and wiper. The hatchback does, however, comes standard with all the safety equipment such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, high-speed warning, seat-belt reminder; among others.
The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG model comes powered by the BS6-compliant 1.2-litre Kappa engine. It produces 66bhp and 95Nm of peak torque. This is a reduction of 10bhp and 19Nm of torque, compared to its petrol-powered engine. The CNG-powered engine comes mated to a standard five-speed manual gearbox, without any automatic transmission options.
The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS is the only hatchback among its competitors to offer a CNG-powered variant. Its rivals such as the Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Tata Tiago, receive only petrol and/or diesel engines.
Hyundai has become the country's biggest UV brand for the month of March 2020. This is a direct result of the success of its Venue and Creta offerings, both of which have together registered over 12,000 units of sales in the segment.
Thoughts On The Hyundai i10 Grand NIOS CNG Launch In India
The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS is the third-generation iteration of the hatchback in the Indian market. The hatchback has been received well, bringing in consistent sales month-on-month. The addition of the CNG variant to the list will help the brand further increase sales, once the market gets back to normalcy.
