Next-Gen Nissan Leaf Teased
Nissan has started its teaser campaign for the next-generation of the leaf which is set to bring big upgrades in terms of range and feature sharp new looks.
Japanese carmaker Nissan has released the first teaser image of the next-generation Leaf EV ahead of its launch later this year at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show.
The teaser image of the new Leaf shows off the new headlamp design of the next-gen electric vehicle. The stretched back headlamp looks similar to the one found on the new Micra, but features more detail work compared to the Micra's unit.
The new Leaf has been spied in the wild a few times before and it would seem that the headlights are not the only design feature that the leaf will borrow from the new Micra. The Leaf's new design is also expected to borrow styling cues from the IDS concept car unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show including the floating roof design
In terms of range, the new Leaf is expected to get a huge upgrade to help it compete with rivals like the Chevrolet Bolt and the upcoming Tesla Model 3. The current car's 107-mile (172-kilometres) range is set to be blown away by the new car which will is expected to boast of a range anywhere from 200 to 300 miles (322 - 482 kilometres).
