Line Lock

Line lock feature engages only the front brakes so you can do a burnout. While this helps to get your tyres up to temperature before a drag race, in city driving conditions, it means you'll end up wearing out your rear tyre and might end up requiring a change of tyres.

Drift Mode

Drift Mode is a technique in motorsports in which the driver briefly oversteers before the start of a turn, which causes the rear wheel of the vehicle to enter a managed lateral skid till the turn is complete. While this helps rally drivers to persuade their cars into a slide on a loose gravel to go faster, on a circuit, it is better to maintain the racing line than sliding, as it takes longer to lap the circuit.

Sports Mode for Exhaust

Most people might believe that hitting the sports button transforms their entire exhaust system; however, the sportier settings for the exhaust pipe doesn't increase the flow rate.

Instead, it often initiates an active sound device that makes your car rev louder, and when you lift your feet off the accelerator, it seems like it's backfiring.

Rear Diffusers

A diffuser in a performance car is a shaped section of the car underbody which improves the aerodynamics. However, we are not talking about the high-performance cars with aero-kits; instead, we're talking about the large majority of affordable performance cars that feature plastic designed to look like a diffuser, but don't do much.

Performance Data

Some performance cars have menus within their infotainment displays which let you choose what information is displayed. While some of the information, such as oil temperature, boost pressure and oil pressure, are useful, others are useless. By monitoring your 0-100km/h time, braking distance or cornering forces won't help you enhance your driving. If anything, it will cause you to try to accelerate quicker, brake and turn harder than you did on the previous lap until you run out of fuel.
