As per the notification of the road transport ministry, all new models will have to comply with the norms from April 2018 onwards.

In the same fashion, all new vehicles of the existing models will have to equip the ABS from April 2019 onwards.

Most of the car manufacturers in India are offering ABS as an optional feature from the base variants onwards. However, this will change from April 2019, where all new cars will come installed with ABS as a standard fitment.
