GT Driver Aditya Patel Scores Points In Korea
Aditya Patel scored a handful of points at the fourth round of the Audi R8 LMS cup in Korea. Patel was very competitive in Practice. But the qualifying was not good for him as he made a driver error. He qualified 9th on the grid.
A poor start in race one put Patel down to 10th but he found a good rhythm and managed to finish the race 1 in 6th place. Hong Kong Driver Marchee Lee won the race.
In race 2, Patel went up to 3rd in the first lap and battled with the championship contender, Martin Rump for few laps. But Rump got the better of Patel who finished 5th. The Indian was passed by teammate Alessio Picariello with Alex Yoong, former F1 driver winning the race.
After scoring crucial points in both races, Patel said, "Considering the way the first half of the year went, I can't be too disappointed. Of course I would've liked to fight for the podium but unfortunately, the pace wasn't good enough. The consistency over the course of the race was encouraging and we now have our work cut out for Taiwan."
Round 5 of the Audi R8 LMS Cup is held on October 16th at Penbay International circuit.
