Govt Could Cancel Registration Of Vehicle Found Beyond Repair
The Indian government could soon stop a car on the road and cancel the registration if the car is found in a state of beyond repair, regardless of the cars age.
'Sunset Policy' as how the The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways calls this, lets the government decide if the car has reached its end of life period.
If the vehicle is found to be beyond repair, the government will unregister the vehicle, and send the car to the scrap yard.
The Indian government is also looking for scrap yards to where these vehicles will be sent. These may on the outskirts of Chennai and in Kandla.
Also, the government is shortening the timeline to implement Bharat Stage V and VI emission norms for auto makers.
So will a move like this help bring the pollution down and make our roads safer? Please let us know in the comment box below.
