Buses And Autos To Stay Off The Road In Bangalore Tomorrow!
BMTC, KSRTC buses and autorickshaws will stay off the road on Wednesday (2nd September), as they will be joining the nationwide strike.
This is due to large penalties proposed against drivers in the road safety bill.
Taxi services however will not be affected since they have decided to go on strike for the same reason on the 1st of October.
The bus drivers complain that the roads are bad, double laned, unlike countries abroad, which makes driving stressful. The drivers are also forced to complete 10 trips in their 8 hour shift, which drivers feel is very hard.
They also feel that if the centre wants to levy hefty fines for traffic violations by them, it must ensure the roads are better.
This strike will affect many commuters in the city as well as a few IT employees since BMTC caters service to a few companies like Tesco, Infosys and Wipro.
