Tethered Toy Car Reaches 329 km/h (205 mph)
It's exciting just to watch a supercar reach very high speeds, but its a whole different matter when you watch a toy car reach the same speeds as a Formula 1 car.
Even regular cars rarely reach speeds of over 300 km/h. So, how does a toy car achieve a speed of 329 km/h? It is possible when the car is tethered to a pole, is streamlined, like a land speed record breaking vehicle and is running around in circles in an banked oval track.
The sport is called tethered car racing and involves perfectly miniature cars with their own functional internal combustion engine, suspensions other functional parts. The tethering is to prevent the car from flying out of the track. As you'll see at one point in the video you'll start wondering when the car might break away from its tether and come flying at the camera. The sound only makes things scary.
