Maruti To Hire More Employees At Manesar

A Maruti Suzuki spokesperson has said the company would begin hiring new permanent employees from Tuesday. The new workers will be skilled workers who will join production immediately. The carmaker has gained confidence after getting support from the Haryana labour authority.
Maruti Suzuki"s parent company Suzuki Motor"s chairman global chief Osamu Suzuki had on Friday said that there would be no compromise and the management would not be holding any negotiations with striking workers. The move to hire new permanent workers is clearly a sign of Maruti Suzuki not wanting to compromise any more despite the production loss it has suffered in the past two weeks.
Production at the Manesar plant has been severely affected from Aug 29th after Maruti Suzuki did not allow workers to enter the plant unless they sign a good conduct bond. The carmaker has alleged that workers had intentionally sabotaged work and had damaged cars.
Maruti Suzuki builds the new Swift, SX4 and Ritz at Manesar. The new Swift has high demand and the current production levels do not match it. The carmaker has already asked its dealers not to take new orders for the recently launched hatchback. The company has currently restarted production of the Swift partly by hiring some temporary workers and by bringing in engineers and supervisors from its plant in Gurgaon. Also it has moved some production of the swift to Gurgaon.
According to recent reports, the waiting period for the diesel variant of the Swift has already crossed more than six months. The company hopes it will come down a little by not taking new orders.
