Practicality at the front includes a 101-litre frunk. This space can hold a cabin suitcase and a few smaller bags. The profile is clean thanks to flush-fitting door handles. Brushed aluminium trim and piano black inserts add contrast. The car sits on 18-inch AMG alloy wheels with 245/45 R18 EV-specific tyres.

Safety hardware on the outside includes Generation 6 ADAS support. There are 12 ultrasonic sensors around the car. Radar-based cameras sit in the outside mirrors. Entry into the CLA Electric 's cabin is via frameless doors, which give the EV a coupé-like feel. The cabin uses soft-touch materials across most touchpoints. The colour theme mixes white and black surfaces with red contrast stitching. This creates a sporty but premium look that ties in with the exterior shades.

Rear passengers get their own AC vents and two Type-C charging ports. There are cup holders and slots for phones as well. However, tall occupants may find the rear space a bit tight. Under-thigh support is limited, which could affect comfort on long trips. A fixed glass sunroof runs over the cabin of the CLA Electric. It is heavily tinted to cut heat and glare from the sun. However, there is no built-in sliding shade as standard.

The dashboard carries a starry pattern that lights up at night. This matches the star theme on the front grille. Jet-style round air vents sit at the sides. A wide horizontal vent is integrated in the centre area. The layout is clearly focused on the driver.

Behind the steering wheel sits a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. This screen shows speed, range, navigation, and other key details. The flat-bottom AMG steering wheel has a thick rim. Touch-based controls on it manage many menus. The steering is adjustable for both height and reach.

Starting and shutting down the CLA Electric is done through the gear stalk. There is no separate start–stop button. The infotainment uses the AI-rich MBUX system powered by a Nvidia SoC which can support casual gaming and YouTube when the car is parked. The infotainment display is very responsive to touch inputs and the system on the whole feels quick and fluid to use.

The MBUX interface lets users move and group icons like on a smartphone. This allows each driver to set up the home screen to taste. The MMA platform under the CLA Electric is designed to support such advanced software functions.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Review – Driving Impressions – On the Road

On the move, the CLA Electric offers instant acceleration typical of EVs, but it isn't the hyper-aggressive push you back into your seat kind of stuff, but rather a more progressive delivery of power gets more so depending on the mode you're in. There are several modes to choose from: Eco, Individual, Comfort, and Sport. Eco focuses on efficiency, while Comfort targets daily use. Sport mode sharpens responses and delivers stronger acceleration. and is the most engaging of modes to drive in, if you've got a heavy right foot.

The rear-wheel-drive layout gives the Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric a more engaging feel in corners while its suspension setup aims to balance comfort and control. It is not overly firm yet does not feel too soft either. Rough patches and broken roads are managed without harshnessand the CLA electric feels stable at highway speeds.

The integrated AI system studies how each driver uses the car. Over time, it learns preferred throttle and braking patterns. It then adjusts systems to improve range and performance for that style. Even from the start, the car feels well tuned, but it can fine-tune itself over months.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Review – Verdict & Final Thoughts – Our Take

The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric comes across as a tech-focused luxury sedan. Its design details, strong claimed range, and AI-led features stand out. The powertrain offers quick acceleration and refined performance. The learning-based AI adds an extra layer to the driving experience. Overall, it presents a clear view of Mercedes-Benz’s electric direction.

For India, the CLA Electric is expected to feature an ex-showroom prices starting from ₹55 lakh with the CLA 200 Standard Range expected to be offered at that price and the CLA 250+ Long Range expected to carry a price tag of ₹59 lakh. Bookings are open with a token amount of ₹1.5 lakh. Deliveries for the CLA 250+ Long Range are planned by the end of April 2026.

If Mercedes does get close to that expected price tag, it will be quite the offering and surelyprove to be a proper rival to the Tesla Model Y in India. However, if you prefer someone else to do the driving for you, the rear seats may feel a bit to cramped to live, especially if you're on the taller side of the spectrum. We would highly recommend you shortlist the Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric, if you're looking to get yourself a good electric sedan as your daily runabaout.
