Genesis X Skorpio Concept Revealed With 1,100hp V8 - The Ultimate Dune Buggy
Genesis, the luxury marque from Hyundai that is set to come to India soon has taken its luxury badge deep into off-road territory with the Genesis X Skorpio Concept, a dune-ripping desert machine powered by an around-1,100hp V-8 that looks more like a trophy truck than any luxury SUV you've seen.
The Genesis X Skorpio Concept revealed in the Rub' al Khali "Empty Quarter" desert, showcasing an angular, muscular stance with 40-inch off-road tyres and a stance built to speed through the sands...

The Genesis X Skorpio Concept is engineered to tackle desert terrain with a blend of raw output and rugged agility, setting it apart from the brand's usual luxury sedan and coupe concepts. Powering the Genesis X Skorpio Concept is a high-performance V-8 engine delivering roughly 1,100hp and around 1,152Nm of peak torque.
Rolling on 18-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in custom 40-inch off-road tyres, the Genesis X Skorpio Concept's underpinnings are designed to conquer loose sand, keep traction at low pressures and withstand the brutal loads of driving in the desert at speed.

Brembo Motorsport brakes front and rear help slow the mad Genesis X Skorpio Concept and have been chosen for their responsiveness under high thermal and abrasive loads typical of extreme off-road conditions, while protective skid plates shield key mechanical components against impacts and the abrasive desert terrain.
The Genesis X Skorpio Concept's suspension system is tuned for bonkers approach and departure angles, extreme ground clearance and a short wheelbase that supports rapid changes in direction over shifting sand.

"The X Skorpio concept is an extreme off-road vehicle designed to be driven across the toughest and harshest terrain," said Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis. "With a tubular frame, a full roll cage and many components sourced directly from off-road endurance racing specialists, the X Skorpio Concept explores yet another facet of the Genesis brand and highlights our intent to inject emotion and adrenaline into different segments."
The Genesis X Skorpio's exterior bodywork uses a mix of carbon fibre, Kevlar and fibreglass to keep mass down while preserving strength, with sculpted panels echoing the defensive stance of a scorpion - the concept's symbolic namesake. Genesis' signature Two-Line LED lighting frames the front and rear, integrated into a purposeful off-road silhouette.

Inside, the Genesis X Skorpio Concept features a full roll cage, bucket seats with multi-point harnesses and a driver-oriented instrument layout, while suede and leather trim details with distinctive stitching add a touch of premium feel amidst the utilitarian controls.
Genesis has positioned the X Skorpio Concept as part of a broader exploration into rugged, lifestyle-oriented vehicles, shown alongside other off-road concepts tailored to harsh environments and active driving cultures. While there's no indication this concept will reach full production, the X Skorpio represents a dramatic shift in how Genesis applies luxury design to extreme terrain applications.
