Motorcycles Powered By KTM’s 373cc Engine: Cafe Racer, Adventure, Street, Track & More
The KTM 373cc engine made its debut into the India market with the first-gen Duke 390 introduced back in 2013. The naked motorcycle was the most affordable way to upgrade to a performance motorcycle in India.

KTM Duke 390 offered the best ‘bang for the buck' by bringing top-notch performance and features to the table. As a result, the Duke 390 became popular soon after its launch, especially among the younger audience.

Apart from fulfilling the desires of enthusiasts to own a performance motorcycle, the Duke 390 ensured that a string of performance motorcycles launched in the Indian market. The KTM Duke's 373cc single-cylinder engine now powers six different formats of motorcycles that are either on-sale or upcoming in the Indian market.

Here is a list of motorcycles that are powered by KTM's 373cc engine. While all motorcycles share the same engine, none of them belong to the same format.

Before we look at the various motorcycles, here are the power and torque figures for the engine. The 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine produces 43bhp of power and 37Nm of torque. However, there are slight changes made to the engine to suit different formats.

It features the same engine, however, Bajaj has tuned it slightly to offer more fuel efficiency. As a result, the motorcycle makes 39.4bhp and 35Nm of peak torque — 3.1bhp and 2Nm of torque lesser than the Duke 390's engine.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 also misses out on a TFT screen, a Supermoto mode, ABS and a quick-shifter. However, the Dominar 400 is around Rs 50,000 cheaper than KTM's street naked motorcycle.

The engine has been tuned to offer good initial and mid-range that is needed to tackle rough terrain. However, there are no changes in the actual power and torque figures, and they remain the same as the Duke 390.

The motorcycle borrows most of its equipment from the 390 Duke including the TFT instrument cluster and more. Staying true to the DNA of adventure motorcycles, it features WP Apex long-travel USD forks at the front, and a mono-shock setup at the rear. The KTM 390 Adventure retails at Rs 2.99 lakh, ex-showroom (India).

Husqvarna is part of the KTM AG group, and has equipped their scrambler with the KTM's 373cc engine. The power and torque figures are yet to be revealed by the company, however, it is expected to be the same as the Duke 390.

The scrambler motorcycle will also feature dual-purpose knobby tyres, a single-piece tube-type raised and wide handlebar that offers an upright riding position. It also comes equipped with a tank rack to mount a bag.

This completes our list of motorcycles that are powered by the KTM 373cc engine.

Thoughts About The Motorcycles Powered By KTM's 373cc Engine
What amazes me with all the motorcycles that the 373cc engine powers are the sheer diversity it brings to the table. It covers almost all formats of motorcycles right from a street-naked to cafe-racer to an adventure. While we wonder how great it would be if Bajaj announces the Avenger 400, we wait for the upcoming scrambler and cafe-racer in India.
