The Royal Enfield Twins will go on sale in Europe first before it is launched in India. Both the motorcycles will be manufactured in India at its Chennai plant, and the production will be increased in a phased manner.

The CEO also confirmed that the bikes would be available across all 750 dealerships in India by the end of 2018. While India continues to be its bread and butter market, the company is looking to become the leader in the middleweight segment across the globe.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor and the Continental GT 650 is powered by the new 650cc parallel twin engine which features 4-valves per cylinder single overhead camshaft (SOHC) fuel injected unit producing 46.3bhp and 52Nm of torque.

The unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with slip-assist clutch to reduce lever effort. Royal Enfield claims the new 650cc parallel twin can propel the motorcycles to cruising speeds of 120-135kph.
