GST Effect: Honda To Cut Prices Of Activa And Unicorn
Scooters and motorcycles of Honda such as Activa and Unicorn will receive a price cut of 3 to 5 percent from July 1, 2017, with the adoption of GST.
Prices of models such as Honda Activa and Unicorn is set to be slashed by up to 3 to 5 percent with the adoption of GST. The changes are set to be implemented from July 1, 2017, the effective date for GST to be rolled out by the central government.
There have been reports of a price increase of 1 percent on two-wheelers based on the GST slabs, and companies have been working to calculate the exact impact of the new tax structure.

Companies like Bajaj Auto and Royal Enfield have already rolled the expected benefits of GST to buyers, while Honda Motorcycles and Scooters Ltd. (HMSL) will cut prices starting July 2017.
"While the price cut will differ from state to state and product to product we expect it to range between 3-5 percent on an average. Whatever benefit there is (arising from GST) we will pass it on to the customer", said YS Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.

While Bajaj Auto, Royal Enfield has announced price revision of their two-wheelers, others such as Hero MotoCorp, TVS Motors, Yamaha India and Suzuki are also expected to announce the price change from July 1, 2017.
