Guy Martin Sets A New Triumph Speed Record
The Isle Of Man TT legend, Guy Martin has broken a speed record barrier on the Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner. Guy achieved this during his practice run, by clocking a top speed of 274.2mph (441km/h).
The previous land speed record that Triumph holds is 245.667mph (395km/h), while there was also an unofficial Triumph Record of 264mph (424.8km/h).
In near perfect conditions for a record attempt, the 46-year-old Triumph Record was obliterated by Guy and is a reliable indication that he is getting familiar with the 1000bhp Kevlar Streamliner.
Each time he completes another run, he has been able to achieve the speeds set by crew chief and designer, Matt Markstaller.
"It's good, and we are moving in the right direction, but it is just one step on the way to what my team and I are here to do," said Guy.
Once the five-day test is completed, the team will return to the Bonneville Salt Flats in the last week of August, with 400mph (643km/h) on their minds.
