Tata Nano Diesel Coming To Auto Expo 2014
At the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, which starts on 7th February, Tata Motors will have at least three reveals to make, two of them being the Project Falcon cars. These two cars will be next generation Vista hatchback and Manza sedan. However, the company's blockbuster reveal will be India's least expensive car, the next generation Nano.
Breaking cover at the Auto Expo will be the all new 2014 Nano which will be extensively facelifted and joining small hatchback variant lineup for the first time since its inception will be a diesel model.

Tata Nano diesel has long been rumored and has also been spotted several times being tested. The diesel engine powering the Nano will be a new unit, with an expected displacement of 800cc. The 2 cylinder unit will be supplemented by a turbocharger to increase power output to about 40 bhp. The engine will feature fuel injection and is said to return a mileage of 35 km/l.
This would make the Tata Nano diesel the most fuel efficient car in India, which would be the car's main selling point.
The next generation Nano will be Tata Motors' first major attempt to give its small city car a comprehensive image makeover. The new Nano will no longer be referred to as a cheap car, but as a trendy city car that's affordable and also inexpensive to maintain.
Tata Nano is currently sold in petrol and CNG variants, ranging in price from INR 1.5 lakhs to INR 2.77 lakhs. Tata Nano diesel is expected to be the most expensive of the lot, with a price tag that could touch the INR 3 lakh mark for the first time.
