Nissan Ropes In Ussain Bolt For GT-R Ad Campaign
Japanese carmaker Nissan has partnered with the world's most fastest man, Usain Bolt for a global campaign to promote the 2012 Nissan GT-R sports car. The Jamaican sprinter and Olympic gold medalist will feature in global advertisement campaigns for the carmaker's latest GT-R model.
The GT-R which is massively popular for its stunning performance will race from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Bolt, who can run 100 meters in 9.58 seconds, also likes fast cars and has been the owner of a Nissan GT-R since 2009. This is the third generation GT-R and the car has been revised to deliver more performance than the outgoing model.

The ad campaign which has been titled 'What if' will feature Nissan cars and highlight the company's innovations. The carmaker will start off the campaign by setting up billboards at some of the selected international airports featuring Bolt and Nissan GT-R.
An excited Bolt was quoted as commenting on the GT-R: "I was looking on the internet and I came across the Nissan GT-R and they were staying it was the best streetcar ever made. Nissan GT-R is a wonderful car and perfect for me. I love everything in it. I enjoy driving it and I feel completely safe and this is the key thing for me."
Nissan had newly formed a global marketing organisation and the campaign is the first from them. With the 2012 Olympic Games set to kick off, the carmaker hopes the campaign to be a success with the international audience. However, the GT-R is not available for sale in India.
The GT-R has a large fan base all over the world including Indian cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar had sold his Ferrari Modena 360 and bought the GT-R 530 within days which was specially imported from Dubai. (Read: Sachin Buys Nissan GTR After Selling Ferrari)
