Toyota Innova
Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian arm of the Japanese carmaker has every reason to celebrate. The carmaker has posted a 49% increase in April sales after it sold 14,378 units from April 2011's sales of 9,681 units.

The arrival of the new Innova and the new Fortuner has done wonders to Toyota's sales. The Toyota MPV continues to be the segment leader. Innova sales almost double from 3,464 units to 6,582 units. The New Fortuner has registered sales of 1,270 units in April 2012 marking a 72% increase from 739 units sold in April 2011.

Toyota's entry level car the Etios has posted an impressive 21% increase in April sales. The Japanese carmaker has sold 5,624 units of the Etios. It is a well known fact that the launch of the diesel variants of the Etios has provided the much needed boost to sales. Toyota's mid level sedan Corolla Altis delivered 881 sales.

Speaking about Toyota's April sales performance, the company's Deputy Managing Director- Marketing Mr. Sandeep Singh said: “The Etios series, Innova, Fortuner continue to register growth in April. However, the market sentiments seem to be low with the enquiry levels gone down across the industry.”

Toyota is one of the few carmakers to have had massive sales increase in April this year. It has been definitely helped by the launch of the new Innova which has performed beyond market expectations. The Etios entry level range of cars have also boosted Toyota's overall sales.
