Tata Motors April Sales Decline 7%

Passenger vehicle sales for April stood at 23,658 units marking a 7% drop from previous April's sales of 25,436 units. The Tata Nano posted a massive 20% drop in sales to 8,028 units. Tata Motors had sold more than 10,000 units of the Nano in April 2011.
Among other cars, the Indica range of cars posted a whopping 63% jump to 6,913 units while the Indigo range of cars saw a steep fall of 31%. Tata's utility vehicle range consisting of the Sumo, Aria, and Safari posted a sales growth of 5%
Tata Motors' passenger vehicle sales have been going up and down in the past few months while commercial vehicles had shown steady growth. But for the first time, commercial vehicle sales declined by 6% to 34,647 units. While light commercial vehicles saw a sales hike of 9% while the medium and heavy commercial vehicles saw a decline of a whopping 29%.,
Tata Motors has stated that sales of its British premium brands Jaguar and Land Rover continued their upward trend. Tata Motors also added its exports had fallen by 35% to 2,781 units from 4,258 units in April 2011.
