Mahindra Posts Massive 27% Jump In April Sales

Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.said, “We are happy to have achieved a growth of 27% during the first month of the new financial year. We are particularly encouraged by the success of all our brands especially Bolero which figures in the top 10 selling passenger vehicles in India. Going forward, we will continue to work towards maintaining this growth momentum”.
Mahindra sold 39,299 units in April 2012 while it had sold 30,349 units in April 2011. Passenger vehicle sales increased by 33% in April. Passenger vehicles include the XUV 500, Scorpio, Bolero and the Verito. April sales stood at 20,558 units this April as against 15,459 units in April 2011.
Mahindra, which also manufactures commercial vehicles stated sales of its three wheelers increased to 4,659 units in April 2012 from previous April's 4,411 units. Sales of the Gio and Maxximo mini trucks increased from 9,538 units to 13,504 units.
However, Mahindra suffered a decline in its exports. The company exported 1,420 units this April from the previous April's exports of 1,741 units.
