Nissan's Small Car That Is Cheaper Than Micra

Nissan is another carmaker that wants to enter the entry level small car scene in India. Nissan which has a manufacturing plant in Chennai builds the Micra and Sunny sedan in India. The Japanese carmaker has sated it would unveil a new small car that would be priced lower than the Micra.

Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director and CEO, Nissan Motor India has said “We're seriously studying the launch of a small car below the Micra. We see great opportunity in the small car segment."

The new Nissan small car could see the light of the day most probably in the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. Nissan has ambitious plans for India and a small car is the only way it can get the market share it is aiming at. The Nissan Micra small car is slowly gaining ground in the Indian market.
