Hyundai has been Maruti Suzuki's long time competitor. It started its battle for supremacy against the Indian carmaker with the Santro. The competition appears to continue with the Korean carmaker announcing plans to launch a small car that will compete with the Alto. Code named as the H800, Hyundai's latest small car is being tested with lot of camouflage around Chennai.

The Hyundai H800 is also powered by a 800cc petrol engine. This car is expected to be priced at less than Rs.3 lakhs and is aimed at India's rural car market where Maruti Suzuki has a strong foothold. Expected to be unveiled by the end of 2011 or early next year, the Hyundai H800 will enter a keenly contest small car sector.
