Maruti Suzuki SX4 - The Man Among Cars

Maruti Suzuki had a great run in the sedan market with its Esteem and Baleno. But there was ahuge void after these two models were phased out due to emission norms. A proper mid level sedan that could offer the reliability and low cost maintenance of Maruti Suzuki was no where to be seen until the SX4 came in to the picture.

Although the Swift DZire was launched even before the SX4, the later is considered a proper sedan as the Dzie has been derived from the Swift hatchback. The SX4 delivers the oomph, a commanding road presence and performance to match.

The SX4 is a result of an international project involving Fiat and Suzuki. The SX4's petrol and diesel engines were developed jointly by Fiat and Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki brought in the SX4 after it emerged as a huge hit in the international market.

The SX4 was not expected to perform as well as the DZire due to its high cost. But it impressed every one with its performance and strong looks. Maruti Suzuki's ad campaign with the tag line 'Men Are Back' also proved to be a huge attraction.

The SX4 success story continued after Maruti Suzuki launched the diesel version last year. Indian mid -level sedan buyers consider the SX4 to be reasonably priced. It also caters to the auto enthusiasts with its peerless performance.

The SX$ is currently in the market with a starting price of Rs.7.13 lakhs for the petrol model and Rs.7.9 lakhs for the diesel variant.
