Royal Enfield recently unveiled the new Scram 440 motorcycle in India. This is not a completely new motorcycle but a collection of upgraded bits from the Royal Enfield Scram 411. As such, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the new Scram 440 motorcycle.
Design
In terms of design, the new Royal Enfield Scram 440 looks identical to the outgoing Scram 411. However, there are a few changes on the Scram 440, such as the use of LED headlights and alloy wheels (Force variant). Also, the Scram 440 comes with different set of colour options compared to the Scram 411.

Engine
The new Royal Enfield Scram 440 uses a bigger 443cc engine based on the 411cc engine on the Scram 411. This new engine gained 32cc due to a 3mm bigger bore, resulting in a 4.5 per cent increase in power (25.4bhp @ 6,250rpm) and a 6.5 per cent increase in torque (34Nm @ 4,000rpm).
Gearbox
Apart from the bigger engine, the new Royal Enfield Scram 440 also features a 6-speed gearbox instead of a 5-speed gearbox. This extra cog is expected to give Scram 440 better rideability on the highways.

Features
As mentioned, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 motorcycle comes equipped with a new LED headlight - An upgrade over the halogen headlights on the Scram 411. Other features include alloy wheels (Force variant), a part-analogue part-digital instrument cluster, and a tripper navigation pod (optional).
Hardware
The Royal Enfield Scram 440 features an uprated chassis and a bigger piston front caliper (30/32mm vs 26/26mm). That being said, braking duty is carried by a 300mm disc brake at the front and a 240mm disc brake at the rear. Additionally, the bike features a switchable (rear) dual-channel ABS unit.

Coming to the suspension, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 uses 41mm telescopic forks with 190mm of wheel travel at the front and mono shock set up at the rear with 180mm of wheel travel.
