Bajaj Chetak 2901: Top 5 Things You Need To Know
In a bid to boost the sales of Chetak electric scooters and increase the market share in the EV sector, Bajaj Auto recently launched the more affordable Chetak 2901 electric scooter in India. As such, here are a few things you should know before making the buying decision.
Price
The newly launched Chetak 2901 electric scooter is priced to attract the general public and it is rightly priced at Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom India), making it the most affordable variant of the Chetak e-scooter. This aggressive pricing makes the new Chetak 2901 Rs 51,000 cheaper than the top-of-the-line Chetak model.
Battery Pack, Range & Performance
The newly launched Chetak 2901 comes equipped with a 2.9kWh battery pack, this is a decent size battery pack for the model of its segment and promises a range of 123km on a fully charged battery pack. However, the top speed is limited to 63km/h, and charging takes six hours for a full charge.
Design
In terms of design, the Chetak 2901 is a very attractive electric scooter with a stylish neo-retro charm. The attractive design of the Chetak 2901 also makes the model a good choice for the younger demographic.
Features
The new Bajaj Chetak 2901 comes with the same colour LCD as the Chetak Urbane. However, unlike other variants, the Chetak 2901 comes with just one ride mode, and it misses out on features such as alloy wheels, instead sports steel wheels.
That being said, adding TecPac for an additional cost of Rs 3,000 adds alloy wheels and unlocks two riding modes (Eco and Sport), a reverse mode, and hill-hold assist. The Chetak 2901 retains an off-board charger, similar to the Chetak Urbane, while the Chetak Premium features an on-board charger.
Competition
The newly launched Chetak 2901 electric scooter competes with the TVS iQube (2.2kWh), Ather Rizta S, and Ola S1 Air. This shows that Bajaj aims to attract a younger demographic with this affordable yet stylish e-scooter.
