The much-awaited Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 motorcycle is finally here with a starting price of Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). So, here is a quick comparison of the new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 with its nearest rival, the Triumph Speed 400.

Powertrain

The newly launched Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is powered by a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Moreover, this engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with slip-and-assist clutch.

Suspension

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 features a conventional 43mm telescopic forks at the front with 140mm of wheel travel, and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear with 150mm of wheel travel.

In comparison, the Triumph Speed 400 comes with 43mm USD Big Piston forks at the front with 140mm wheel travel and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear with 130mm of wheel travel.

Brakes

In terms of braking hardware, the new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 uses a 310mm disc brake at the front and a smaller 270mm disc at the rear. On the other hand, the Speed 400 sports a slightly smaller 300mm disc at the front and a smaller 230mm disc at the rear. Also, both bikes feature dual-channel ABS.

Kerb Weight & Tyres

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 weighs 185kg and features 120/70 R17 tyres at the front and 160/60 R17 tyres at the rear. Surprisingly, the Triumph Speed 400 weighs just 9kg less at 176kg. The model also sports narrower 110/70 R17 tyres at the front and 150/60 R17 tyres at the rear.

The newly launched Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is available in 3 variants and prices for the model starts at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the other hand, the Triumph Speed 400 is available in only one variant, but customers can choose between 3 dual-tone shades. This model is priced at Rs 2.24 lakh (ex-showroom), which is approximately Rs 15,000 less than the base-spec Guerrilla 450 and Rs 30,000 less than the top-spec Guerrilla 450.
