Updated Triumph Speed 400 Motorcycle Launched In India At Rs 2.40 Lakh

Triumph has introduced the updated Speed 400 in India, priced at Rs 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model is approximately Rs 15,000 more than its predecessor. Enhancements include fresh colours and minor upgrades to enhance the riding experience. The Speed 400 now comes in Racing Yellow, Phantom Black, Pearl Metallic White, and Racing Red.

The new Triumph Speed 400 features a thicker foam seat for improved comfort during long rides. It also boasts high-profile radial tyres from Vredestein and adjustable brake and clutch levers. Despite these updates, the bike retains its 399cc liquid-cooled engine, delivering 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 39Nm at 6,500rpm. This single-cylinder engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of technology, the Speed 400 includes ride-by-wire throttle, full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. Bookings for this model are open on Triumph's official website, with deliveries set to commence in a few weeks.

Alongside the Speed 400, Triumph also launched the new Speed T4 at Rs 2.17 lakh. This model is currently the most affordable Triumph motorcycle available in India. The Speed T4 is offered in three colours: white, red, and black. It serves as a successor to the Speed 400 but primarily features new colour schemes while borrowing most cycle parts from its predecessor.

The chassis remains unchanged; however, it now uses conventional telescopic forks instead of upside-down forks. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels fitted with non-radial tyres. Powered by a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, it produces slightly less power at 30.6bhp at 7,000rpm and torque of 36Nm at 5,000rpm.

The company claims that the engine delivers 85 per cent of its torque at just 2,500rpm. Like its counterpart, this motor is also mated to a six-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the Speed T4 comes equipped with an all-LED display and an analogue-digital display with Bluetooth connectivity.
