Royal Enfield finally launched the long-awaited new-generation Himalayan motorcycle in India. Though the new-gen Himalayan motorcycle replaces the previous model, the new model is widely referred to as the 'Himalayan 450' or Himalayan 452'.
This newly launched new-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan is a much more powerful motorcycle than the model it replaces and here are some key details regarding the variants, specifications, and price of the new motorcycle.

New-Gen Royal Enfield Himalayan: Price
The prices for the newly launched Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle start at Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this is just an introductory price, and the automaker has already announced that the introductory price will be valid till the 31st of December.
Furthermore, the mid-spec Himalayan 'Pass' is priced at Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom), and the top-spec 'Summit' variant is priced at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). In addition to this, the Hanle Black paint scheme model based on the Summit is priced at Rs 2.84 lakh (ex-showroom).

New-Gen Royal Enfield Himalayan: Powertrain
Starting with the new Royal Enfield Himalayan, the motorcycle now comes equipped with an all-new 451.65cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine is called 'Sherpa 450' and it is tuned to produce 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
Unlike the previous-gen Himalayan motorcycle, the new-gen Himalayan motorcycle now features a 6-speed gearbox for mile-munching. In addition to that, the model also comes equipped with a Slip & Assist clutch for smoother downshifts.

New-Gen Royal Enfield Himalayan: Chassis & Suspension
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle uses a Twin-Spar frame, and suspension duties are carried out by 43mm USD forks at the front, and a linkage-type mono-shock unit at the rear. Also, the suspension for the model is supplied by Showa and the whole bike weighs just 198 kilograms.
New-Gen Royal Enfield Himalayan: Brakes
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle uses a 320mm disc brake unit at the front and a 270mm disc brake unit at the rear. Also, the model comes with dual-channel ABS for more effective braking performance.

Tyres are a key part of an adventure motorcycle, and the new Royal Enfield Himalayan uses a pair of bespoke CEAT 90/90R21 and 140/80R17 tyres at the front and back, respectively.

In terms of dimensions, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle measures 2,245mm long, 852mm wide, and sports a wheelbase of 1,510mm. Since the new Himalayan features a height-adjustable seat, the seat height varies between 805mm and 845mm.
