For the month of July 2020, Bajaj Auto has registered sales of 120 units of the Chetak electric scooter in the market. This is higher than its direct rival, the TVS iQube electric scooter, which was also introduced at the start of this year.

The TVS iQube electric, similar to the Bajaj Chetak is the Hosur-based company's first all-electric scooter offering. The TVS iQube electric scooter, however, is currently available only in the city of Bangalore and rivals the likes of the Bajaj Chetak electric and the Ather 450X in the market.

The TVS iQube electric is offered in a single variant and is available with a price tag of Rs 1.15 lakh, on-road (Bangalore). The iQube might have lost out in terms of July sales, however, according to Gaadiwaadi, the TVS electric scooter did manage to register 50 units between April - June 2020 period. During the same time period, the Bajaj Chetak electric registered 0 units of sales.

The sales of both electric scooters have been drastically affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which put the entire country under lockdown for close to two months, between March and May 2020.

The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is offered with a price tag starting at Rs 1 lakh, ex-showroom (Bangalore). The scooter is a premium electric two-wheeler offering, powered by a 4.08kW electric motor and a 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which together offer a maximum range of 90km on a single charge.

Comparatively, the TVS iQube electric scooter is powered by a 4.4kW hub-mounted electric motor mated to a 2.25kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric scooter claims to offer a maximum range of 75km on a single charge and has a top speed of 80km/h.
