Yamaha XSR 155 Could Be Launched In India On December 19

According to the reports from Gaadiwaadi, the bike could be priced significantly lower in the Indian market. The XSR 155 is the smallest bike under the company's ‘Sport Heritage' line-up sold across the world.

The global-spec model of the Yamaha XSR 155 with classic-retro design and a modern touch stands apart. The motorcycles feature round headlights, and tail-lights to further add to the retro looks. It also features single-piece seat with pillion grab belt placed on the center.

The motorcycle features a single-pod fully-digital instrument cluster offering a host of information. This includes, a digital trip meter, fuel gauge, speedometer, gear indicator with ODO and trip indicator as well. The instrument cluster features a clean layout and can be read easily by the rider.

The mechanicals of the bike are shared between the MT-15 and the R15 V3.0 including the power train. The retro motorcycle features a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with Yamaha's ‘VVA' technology produces 18.9bhp and 14.7Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.

Yamaha XSR 155 features company's Steel-Deltabox frame offering maximum rigidity while riding. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by an Upside-Down forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. The brakes on the motorcycles are through a 282mm disc at the front and 240mm disc at the rear. The bike is offered with a dual-channel ABS as standard.

We expect these specs to remain the same for the India-bound model, however, the company could replace the front suspension with conventional forks, as featured on the R15 V3.0 model in India.
