Yamaha Aerox 155 Will Not Be Launched In India
Previously, we had reported about the Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter being spotted in India just before the Auto Expo 2018. We expected Yamaha to showcase the scooter at the auto show. But the Yamaha Aerox 155 was not showcased at the Auto Expo. Now, the Aerox 155 has been spotted again and there are rumours about the launch of the scooter in the country.
Autocar India reports that the Yamaha Aerox 155 will not be launched in India anytime soon. The Aerox 155 is a sporty moto-scooter which has been brought to India to promote the brand. The scooter has been displayed at a few dealerships to analyse the customer response towards the premium scooter.
Coming to the scooter itself, the overall design of the Aerox 155 is based on the MT motorcycle range. The scooter features an aggressive front apron with several cuts and creases which renders a sporty look to the scooter. The tail section is sharp and gets a spacious pillion seat.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 was first revealed in 2016 in Malaysia and has been sold in several other markets such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. The prominent features of the scooter include LED headlight and tail light, 5.9-inch digital instrument cluster, mobile charger and 25-litre under seat storage.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 draws power from a 155.1cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine producing 14.6bhp and 13.8Nm of torque. The scooter is shod with 14-inch alloy wheels. Other equipment includes front disc brake with ABS, telescopic forks up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 is a premium scooter and with the number of features it gets, the price of the scooter in India will be comparatively higher as compared to other scooters. That might be one of the reasons why Yamaha is not launching the scooter in the country.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 is a sporty and premium scooter which bears the European design language. The Aerox 155 will be an expensive affair in India due to the premium features and a bigger 150cc engine. If the Yamaha Aerox 155 is launched in India, it might be priced around Rs 1 lakh ex-showroom.
